A Deadly Bacteria Has Made its Way to Australia and is Spreading Like Wildfire

Over the last couple of months, cases of Strep A, also known as group A Streptococcus, have spiked in over half of Australian states and territories.

The deadly bacteria can cause a number of infections, the most concerning being found in the throat and in the skin which can become fatal if not treated quickly.

The past three months have marked the first major surge of the bug in over two decades with cases in Western Australia doubled over the past three months, and Queensland, NSW, and Victoria all recording rising numbers.
