Here’s How Often You Should Reapply Sunscreen

Skin cancer remains the most common type of cancer in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society. While melanoma accounts for only a fraction of skin cancer cases, it causes the majority of deaths related to the disease.

In 2024, it’s estimated that around 100,640 new cases of melanoma will be diagnosed, and approximately 8,290 people will die from it.

These statistics serve as a crucial wake-up call about the importance of proper skin care. While that initial layer of sunscreen provides a good base, it’s not a one-and-done solution. Dermatologists stress the need to reapply sunscreen regularly to prevent serious health issues.
